A Eureka Springs woman was killed Wednesday in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 6:30 pm on US Highway 62 at East Ridge Road in Gateway near the Missouri border
According to a report released by the Aransas State police, 72-year-old Holt Lezlee of Eureka Springs was eastbound on US Highway 62 East when the 2017 Jeep she was driving ran off the roadway.
The jeep exited the road to the right and then struck a tree before finally coming to rest facing east.
Lezlee was pronounced dead at the scene by the Benton County Coroner.
Trooper Zensa Staab noted rainy and foggy conditions along with a wet roadway as possible factors in the crash.
The death is the 567th for the year on roads and highways in Arkansas.
