A 75-year-old Franklin County resident who was arrested last week on two separate felony charges involving sexually related crimes in 2015 remains in custody at the Franklin County Sheriff's Office according to booking information from Franklin County Detention Center..
Information from Franklin County, as well as court and arrest information from Arkansas Court connect, indicates Norman Ronnie Hunt, 75, of O Ozark, was arrested October 11 and charged with one count of Rape and one count of Sexual Assault in the Second degree.
Court records indicate that Hunts' victim was under the age of 14 years.
The criminal information in the case was filed on September 27 and a warrant for Hunt's arrest was issued the same day. According to that criminal information the sexual assault occurred in January of 2015.
The age of the crimes, coupled with the later filing of the charges, would indicate that the victim would have been violated when Hunt was 66 years old.
On Monday, Scott Allison of the Law Offices of Craig L. Cook filed an entry of appearance in the case and waved formal arraignment. Through his attorney, Hunt pleaded not guilty to the charges.
To that end, there is no information online as to whether bail was set on Monday and Hunt remained in the Franklin County Detention Center as of 245 p.m. Monday afternoon.
