Sebastian County prosecutor files charges against man who crashed into Barling restaurant last week


Sebastian County prosecutor Danial Shue announced in a press release today that 66-year-old Larry Thomas Steven was being charged in Circuit Court in Sebastian County with Negligen tHomicide - Intoxication, four counts of Battery in the Second Degree -Intoxication, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree ?\>25,000 ,and Driving while Intoxicated/ First offense. Stevens is being charged with three felonies, two Class B and one class D as well as the unclassified misdemeanor for Driving While Intoxicated. The release says on November 27 the affidavit for probable cause determination was presented to Judge R. Gunner delay who found that probable cause existed for the arrest and set bond at $100,000 cash. Stevens will be arranged on the charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court on November 29 at 8:30 a.m. The press release says that the investigation by the Arkansas State Police, the Barling Police Department, Sebastian County Sheriff's Office, and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and other law enforcement agencies is ongoing with regard to these criminal offenses.

The victim in the accident was Heather White of Rogers and uthe people sustained injuries that required transportation to local hospital. The four charges of felony battery are for those individuals. Police say Stevens was intoxicated when he drove the truck into the blue agave restaurant in Barling on November 22.
