Sebastian County Prosecutor announces details and charges in Tuesday stabbing attack in Fort Smith

A 23-year-old Fort Smith man is being held without bond in the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center after an arrest on Wednesday in connection with a stabbing near a Fort Smith convenience store on the north side of town.


Charges were filed today by Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Shue on Jacob Riley Favela in the stabbing of Michael Robinson. Favela is facing Aggravated Armed Robbery and Kidnapping charges, both Class Y felonies, as well as Class A Felony Attempted Murder. He will also be charged as a Habitual Offender.


Information from the prosecutor's office says Favela stabbed Robinson "repeatedly in the hands and neck" at 3620 North O Street.

Robinson was taken to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith where he underwent life-saving surgery, according to the information in the press release.


Favela is no stranger to curt rooms and jail cells, racking up numerous arrest since the age of 17 for Commercial Burglary and Burglary, Theft of Property and Aggravated Assault. In January of 2018 the then 18-year-old Favela was sentenced to six years with four years suspended. Obviously, he was paroled in less than two-and a half years after his sentence to be able to be on the streets stabbing people by Tuesday of this week.


Arrangement in this case fast been set fo September 9 in Sebastian County Circuit Court.
