Sebastian County Circuit Court jury trial sends Ardmore woman to prison for ten years on felony charges




An Ardmore Oklahoma woman rolled the dice in Sebastian County circuit Court on Thursday and came up with snake eyes when the jury trial she sought resuted in her being sentenced her to a combined total of 16 years in prison on gun and drug-related charges.


According to information from Arkansas Court Connect and the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center booking desk, 38-year-old Alexis Denae Jackson, who was arrested by the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office on April 6, 2023, and had been free on a $50,000 bond since that time, was given ten years on the charge of Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and six years for possession of marijuana of more than 100 but less than 500 lb.


The sentences were set to run consecutively, according to court documents.


The arrest of Jackson occurred in the Lower County District, meaning she was arrested outside the city of Fort Smith. The original trial date was October, but two continuances moved the jury trial to Thursday.


Jackson remains in the custody of the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center waiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Corrections for assignment.
