A Missouri man wanted in conjunction with a stabbing of a pregnant woman in the Bellefonte communmity in Boone County was arrested in Springfield last week and transferred back to the Boone County jail on Wednesday.
Charles L. Boone, 29 of Braggadocio, Missouri was arrested in Springfield on a warrant on April 15 for the stabbing of 35-year-old Ashley Crawford of Bellefonte. Crawford, who is 28-weeks pregnant, was found eith multiple stab wounds and lacerations and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
She told officers that Boone attacked her with a knife.
Crawford and the unborn child and both in good condition at this time.
A press release from the Boone County Sheriff Office desribes Boone as the "boyfriend" of Crawford.
After the stabbing, Boone fled the season in the victims black Mustang.
Boone is being held without bond on two counts of attempted capital murder.
