Sallisaw man succumbs to injuries suffered earlier in the month in Sequoyah County accident

A Sallisaw man who suffered critical injuries earlier in the month in a two-vehicle accident in Sequoyah county died in a Tulsa medical facility last week.


According to the information from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and social media post, 68-year-old Glen Freshour was involved in a collision on May 9 on County Road 4620. The OHP report says Freshour was coming through a stop sign at the intersection of County 1040 and 4620 when he turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Derek Christenberry, also of Sallisaw.


Officials on the scene said it took approximately 20 minutes to extricate Freshour from his vehicle before he was airlifted to the medical facility in Tulsa. He passed away Wednesday morning from his injuries.


According to the OHP report the accident occurred approximately one-mile north of Sallisaw.
