The Arkansas State Police say a 28-year-old Russellville woman and two of the five minors in her vehicle died when a 2012 Tahoe she was driving ran off I40 near the London community in Pope County.
According to a preliminary report posted Tuesday morning by the Arkansas State Police and Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at 12:23 p.m. on Monday.
Police say the Tahoe, which was being driven east on I-40 near mile marker 75', exited the roadway after the SUV swerved from the left lane to the right lane. After going off the right side of the roadway the vehicle collided with a tree head on.
The driver, identified as Taylor Brannin of Russellville and two unidentified minor children were killed in the crash according to the ASP. Police say three other minors in the Tahoe were also injured.
The report indicates the injured children were taken St Mary's Regional Health and Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
According to Trooper Paul M. Matthews of the Arkansas State Police conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
