Russellville woman killed in two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on I430 in Little Rock



The Arkansas State Police say one Russellville woman is dead and a second was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle accident on I430 in east Little Rock.


According to the Arkansas State Police preliminary report, Patricia Sorrells, 57, was a passenger in a 1999 Subaru Legacy that was driven by 38-year-old Kristal Pelts, who was attempting to exit I630 onto I430 at just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.


Police say Pelt lost control of the vehicle as she tried to negotiate the right hand curve in the rainy and wet conditions, causing the Subaru to jump a concrete median and travel into the northbound lane of I430,


The Pelt vehicle was them struck by a westbound 2016 Dodge Ram, with both vehicles coming to rest on I430 facing in a northwest direction.


Sorrells died in the accident and Pelt was taken to nearby Baptist Health for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Trooper Kevin Robinson noted the rainy and wet conditions as ;possible factors in the accident.
