Russellville man jailed for alleged February sexual assault of child under the age of fourteen


A 26-year-old Russellville man was arrested Monday on a warrant issued at the end of June charging him with sexual assault IN the second degree and sexual solicitation/indecency with a child.

According to information from Arkansas Court Connect Christopher Dewayne Duvall of Russellville was arrested by the Polk County sheriff's office at just after 4:00 p.m. Monday.


Duval is in the Polk County Detention Center and is being held on the two felony counts. According the information in the court records the crimes occurred on February 26, 2023 and involved a victim under the age of 14 years.


Sexual Assault in the Second Degree is a Class B felony punishable by 5 to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and/or a fine up to $15,000. Sexual Indecency with a Child is a Class D felony and can lead to up to six years in prison and a possible $10,000 fine.

The warrant for Duvall's arrest was issued June 29 and came after investigation by the Pope County Sheriff's Office. The affidavit in the case has been sealed by court order, thereby protecting the identity of the victim.

It appears that Duval has not had his first court appearance and no bail has been set in the case ar this time.
