Road construction accident claims the life of nineteen-year-old Heavener man

A former Heavener football player died in a roadway construction accident on Thursday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Jace Hamner, 19, was killed approximately in the accident which occured 0.1 miles west of Dead End Lane near Heavener.
The 2019 Heavener graduate was working on what is know locally as the "Conser Project" along a stretch of Richard Summerfield Rpad. when he got off the equipment while it was was still running
Hamner either tripped or stumble and fell into the path of the pavement roller. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident was investigated by OHP, the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, LeFlore County EMS, Hodgen Fire Department and the Heavener Fire Department, according to the report.
