River Valley Three-Day Forecast and Special Weather Statement

A few isolated strong thunderstorms will remain possible across portions of southeast Oklahoma through early evening. A complex of thunderstorms will likely develop northwest of the area tonight, moving into portions of eastern Oklahoma after Midnight.

The strongest thunderstorm activity is expected to move across southeast Oklahoma and possibly west central Arkansas towards morning. Locally heavy rainfall is likely in the strongest storms with wind gusts of 60 to 70 miles possible. An active pattern will continue into early next week, with additional rounds of thunderstorms expected through Tuesday. This will lead to an increasing threat of heavy rainfall and possible flooding. Severe weather will also be possible with any of the more organized thunderstorm complexes in this pattern. The overall threat of storms may begin to decrease by the middle of nextweek, with hotter and more humid weather returning.
