The Fort Smith Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Public Safety has identified a 67-year-old Fort Smith man who was killed in a two vehicle accident last Thursday on Brooken Hill Drive in Fort Smith.
According to a preliminary report filed with the state agency, local resident Bill Morgan was the driver of a 2000 Chrysler van that was headed west on Brooken Hill Drive at just before 6:00 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, the Morgan vehicle began to leave the traffic lane and enterinto the eastbound lane into the path of a 2021 Chevrolet.
The two vehicles collided in a nearly head-on situation. Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sebastian County Coroner's office.
According to information from the Fort Smith Police Department conditions were cloudy and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
