Repeat felon totals 40 years of concurrent sentences after Sebastian County plea deal last week

A Van Buren man who has been in the Sebastian County Deotention Center since September of last year was sentenced to a considerable amount of more time behind bars last week when he drew a total of thirty years in the Arkansas Department 0of C0orrection on drug and firearm-related charged.


Twenty-four-year-old Steven Matthew Huffstetler drew sentences of 20. 15 and five years to be served concurrently after entering a plea deal on two counts of Possession (meth/controlled substance) With Intent to Deliver and one count of Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons. Huffstetler was sentenced as a habitual offender. He also received another 60-years suspended on the charges.


When he was arrested on September 16 of last year, Huffstetler had a total of nine different charges filed against him, including Abscondng, Parole Violation, Contempt, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms in addition to the crimes he was sentenced for last week


Huffstetler has a long history of felonious behavior dating back to the age of nineteen when he was arrested for Felony Theft of Property.
