Remains discovered in Washington County identified as man reported missing in Fayetteville in 2020




The skeletal remains located on November 16 in southern Washington County have been positively identified as being those of missing 34-year-old Brandon Lee Barron.


Barron, who was a Washington County resident, has been the subject of at least two stories on Today in Fort Smith in the past two years. He went missing on June 23, 2020 and was transferred into our long-term missing base on June 23, 2021.


TIFS ran a series of stories on Barron's disappearance after contacting his parents a few months after the 34-year-old went missing after an appointment at a medical clinic in Fayetteville.


According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff's office the Arkansas State Crime Lab confirmed the remains belong to Barron on November 22.
