Registered sex offender in Dardanelle with previous felony convictions arrested for registration violation

Damon Oneal McNeese, 61, was arrested by Yell County authorities on May 1, 2025, for failing to comply with sex offender registration mandates.
McNeese, a Level 2 (Moderate Risk) registered sex offender, was detained at his residence on 206 Locust Street in Dardanelle following an investigation by the Yell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) Sex Offender Registry, McNeese, was convicted of Second-Degree Sexual Assault, necessitating his registration. The arrest was triggered by his failure to update required details.
McNeese, described as a white male, 5’7”, with black hair, blue eyes, and a scar on his head, did not provide a driver’s license or employer address to the registry.
This violation follows a history of legal issues in Arkansas, including a probation revocation in 2006, a failure to appear in 2006 , and a hot check/personal services offense in 2002) with fines totaling $35,000.
Past addresses linked to McNeese include 801 2nd St, Dardanelle, where he resided from August 2009 to May 2021.
McNeese is currently held at the Yell County Detention Center, awaiting a court appearance. Charges for non-compliance could result in fines, imprisonment, or extended registration periods under Arkansas law.
