A federal judge has sentenced Gustavo Gordillo, a 42-year-old citizen of Guatemala, to 292 months in federal prison for producing child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester

The sentence was handed down on January 7, 2026, by U.S. District Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti in Oklahoma City. Gordillo will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term

.The case began in July 2020 when investigators with the Oklahoma City Police Department received a cyber tip. Authorities learned that files containing child sexual abuse material had been uploaded to a Google Photos account. Further investigation identified Gordillo as the individual responsible for the uploads. He resided in Oklahoma City at the time

.The probe showed that Gordillo had communicated with multiple children and sent them child sexual abuse material. In one instance, a child who lived out of state produced such material of herself at Gordillo's direction and transmitted it to him

.Gordillo, who had entered the United States on a temporary visa that later expired, was arrested on January 29, 2025, by special agents with Homeland Security Investigations and officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department.

A federal grand jury indicted Gordillo on February 20, 2025, on charges including production of child pornography. He pleaded guilty on June 12, 2025, and admitted in court that he used a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child sexual abuse material.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge DeGiusti cited Gordillo's history and characteristics, as well as the need to protect the public. The judge described Gordillo as a sexual predator who targeted young girls to create child pornography.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Oklahoma City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon prosecuted the case.
