The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting the death of a 29-year-old man who was killed in a head-on collision Thursday morning one mile north of Poteau on State Highway 112 in Leflore County

Police say Lucio Gopar of Poteau was southbound in the northbound lane of State Highway 112 when he collided with a 2017 Dodge Ram driven by Aaron Moss, 48, also of Poteau. Police say the 2017 GMC Sierra driven by Gopar was in the wrong lane at the time of impact.

Gopar was pronounced dead at the scene while Moss was airlifted to St Francis hospital in Tulsa with several trunk and internal injuries. According to a report from the hospital this morning he remains in stable condition.

A passenger in the Moss vehicle, 42-year-old Connie Moss, was treated and released at the scene.

Police say that Gopar was pinned for just over 15 minutes before being freed by the Poteau fire department.
