Police says six-year-old brother fired fatal shot that killed three-year-old sister Thursday in Little Rock

A three-year-old Little Rock girl died Thursday as the result of being shot by her six-year-old brother in what police have termed a "possible accidental shooting".


According to published reports police were initially investigating the death as a homicide on Friday. after the shooting at 12614 St. Charles Boulevard around 4:42 p.m. Thursday night.


The girl, whose name was redacted in the police report, died of her wounds at Arkansas Children's Hospital a short time after the incident and while details of the shooting were still under investigation on Friday, the six-year-old brother was first listed as a "suspect" in the death.


Preliminary information provided to the press pointed to the shooting being an accident, but detectives continued to investigate the situation on Friday.
