Police say high rate of speed contributed to deadly accident on Sunday in Bentonville
Police say a Rogers man died in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on US 71B/Sam Walston Boulevard a little before 2 p.m. on Sunday.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary report, 29 year-old Shane Garner was traveling northbound on the highway when the tires of the 2002 Jeep Cherokee he was driving at a high rate of speed in the outside lane hit a curb near the intersection with Southwest A Street in Bentonville.
The Jeep exited the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Garner was transported to the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville where he was later pronounced dead.
Corporal Kerry Pippin pf the Bentonville Police Department reported condition were clear at the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
