Plea deal results in one charged dropped and fifteen-year sentence on two other drug felonies




A 31-year-old Barling man remains in the Sebastian County Detention Center on Saturday waiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Corrections after a plea deal on felony drug charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court last week...

According to booking information from the SCADC, Michael Anthony Hilburn, who resided in the 2300 block of Pine Lane in Barling, was sentenced to 15 years in the ADC after a plea deal on Thursday on two felony drug charges.

Hilburn went into the courtroom charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and maintaining a drug premises charges. In agreement to his plea deal on the two ladder charges, the state elected to nolo prosse the simultaneous possession charges.


Hilburn was also hit with a property forfeiture case in connection with his arrest which occurred on June 20 of this year by the Sebastian County Sheriff's office. In addition to the 15 years imposed he was given an additional 15-year suspended and received jail time credit.


Gilbert also had his driver's license suspended for six months.
