Plea deal on child pornography charges sends local deviant to prison for eight years



A 54-year-old Fort Smith man caught eight years in prison with another 9 years suspended after a plea deal Wednesday on internet child pornography charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court.


Court records show that Michael Lee Goff, whose address with the court is listed as unknown, was facing four counts of distributing possessing or viewing of a matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.


He was arrested on the internet porn charges by the Sebastian County Sheriff office on October 20, 2022 and has remained in the custody of the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center since that time.


As part of the plea deal, Goff pled guilty as charged and in addition to the imposed and suspended prison sentences he was required to submit DNA, He is to have no unsupervised contact with minors less than 18 years old and no unsupervised access to the internet at any time.

Once released from prison, Goff will be required to register as a sex offender in his new chosen community.
