Plea deal on assault of minor family member nets Fort Smith woman a ten-year sentence

Four felony arrests in a five-year period finally caught up to a 24-year-old Fort Smith woman last week when she was sentenced to sixteen concurrent years following an assault on a minor family member under the age of twelve that occurred in December of last year.


Morgan Hannah Brock, wh0 lived in the 3600 block of Armour Avenue, was arrested December 16, 2021 for Domestic Battering in the Second Degree - Victim <12 years old or >60 years old, Aggravated Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree and Felony Failure to Appear charges.


Her Wednesday sentencing also included sixteen years of suspended sentences as part of the plea deal.


Those charges came on the heels of a series of other arrests dating back to 2018 including a July arrest for Theft by Receiving that resulted n a suspended imposition of sentence, felony failure to appear and as OCSE case for felony failure to pay support in 202o.


Brock was given jail time credit for her time in the SCADC since her December and had other charges dropped as part of the plea deal.
