Plea deal adds a dozen years to habitaul offenders current prison term

A 32-year-old Garland County man, who was already serving four years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on drug charges, was brought back to Sebastian County this week to face more drug-related charges last week stemming from an April 7, 2022 arrest.

According to information from Sebastian County Detention Center booking, Sebastian County CircuitCourt, and Arkansas court connect, Charles Lee Matthew chambers of Royal, Arkansas was sentenced to a dozen years in the state penitentiary system on delivery of math, heroin, or cocaine charges stemming from that arrest.

Chambers was sentenced as an habitual offender and also had 18 years suspended. All of his sentences are to run concurrently with each other.

Chambers was also facing a number of petitions to revoke counts, but those were all withdrawn based upon his plea deal.
