A Fort Smith man is behind bars after police booked him on multiple felony counts tied to the possession and distribution of material depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.


Sisawat Si Singmuongthong, 55, of the 1800 block of South 22nd Street, was taken into custody by Fort Smith police on the morning of August 14 and processed at the Sebastian County Detention Center.


Booking records list three related charges against him. Two are Class B felonies and one is a Class C felony, all under the Arkansas statute covering pandering or possession of visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, including solicitation, receipt or possession.


The offense date on each count is listed as August 14. He was ordered held on a $100,000 legally sufficient bond and has a court appearance scheduled for August 19 in Circuit Court in Fort Smith.


Singmuongthong was released the same afternoon he was booked, according to jail records. His physical description at booking listed him as 5 feet 3 inches tall and 180 pounds, with Asian/Pacific Islander listed as his race. No aliases appear in the available booking information.
