A Gravette man lost his life early Saturday morning when he was stuck by a Jeep Cherokee traveling south on State Highway 59 southn of Decatur, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Officials say David P. Atwood, 36, was walking southbound in the traffic lane when he was struck by the jeep. Atwood was transported to Siliaom Springs memorial Hospital where was later declared dead from his injuries.
Trooper Britni Binam noted conditons were cloudy and the pavement was dry at the time of gtthe accident, which resulted in the 217th roadway fatality in the tate this year.
