Pea Ridge officer dead after "action of deadly force" by criminals during pursuit incident


The Pea Ridge Police Department is reporting that one of their officers was been killed in motorist related incident at the White Oak gas station on the corner of Slack Street and South Curtis Avenue.


According to information from the scene, Officer, Kevin Apple was killed when suspects involved in a chase resulting from a pursuit involving a property related crime. A spokesperson for the department said the incident was an "action of deadly force."


Apple had previously served as an officer with Lowell and Farmington and had been ion the Pea Ridge for about three years.

Multiple suspects were involved in the chase and were taken into custody in Bella Vista shortly after Apple was struck down.
