Past and present crimes catch up with felon with drug convictions dating back to 2010


A 46-year-old Huntington man, who has remained incarcerated since his arrest on March 17 on a plethora of drug related charges, was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with an additional 15 years suspended in court proceedings Wednesday in Sebastian County Circuit Court.

According to booking information from the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center Kevin Allen Watson. who also lists an address in the 400 block of Mayberry Road in Van Buren, was sentenced to the decade and a half long term after a plea deal.

Watson was arrested in mid-March on chargers streaming for January possession of a controlled substance and possession of cocaine with purpose of delivery and later had possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia added to his charges.


Watson was also facing charges of Class C Felony Failure to Appear, Petition to Revoke, and for a Parole violation stemming from his drug arrest.

Apparently, a 2021 arrest for possession of controlled substance / math or cocaine was reactivated because of his most recent arrest.


According to court records Watson was also sentenced to 20 years in prison on similar charges all the way back in 2010. His 2021 arrest spurred revocation charges on that parole from state custody.


As of Thursday morning, Watson remained incarcerated in the SCADC awaiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
