Ozone man killed in rural accident on August 22 near Lake Ludwig on State Highway 21

A 30-year-old Ozone man died Saturday evening, Aug. 22, 2026, when his pickup left Arkansas Highway 21, went down an embankment, and struck multiple trees in rural Johnson County, according to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash report.
Joshua Dylan Criss, listed as the sole occupant and driver of a 2004 Chevrolet 1500, was traveling southbound near County Road 5560, north of Clarksville and near Lake Ludwig, about 6 p.m.
Criss, 30, of Ozone in Johnson County, is identified in court records as married and a homeowner.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Mary Burkhart of the Arkansas State Police. The report was bo posted on the Arkansas Department of Safety website until Friday afternoon.
