The Arkansas State Police is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Rogers man in a fatality accident in rural Washington County earlier in the week.
According to a preliminary report posted to the Arkansas Department of Safety website, Ollie David Allen was driving a 2008 Chevrolet east on State Highway 16 near the intersection of Valley View Road in rural Washington county on Tuesday just after 7 p.m.
The report says Allen traveled off the roadway on the right side and struck multiple trees. The vehicle came to rest on the driver side facing east beside the highway.
According to information from the report, Allen was transported to Washington Regional Medical Facility in Fayetteville where he later expired from his injuries.
Investigating officer Sgt. Shane A. Akrie of the Arkansas State Police said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
nAt the time of his death, Alllen was the 411th fatality for the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
