One of five people inside restaurant struck by truck on Wednesday dies from injuries

A 48-year-old Rogers woman was killed and four other people sustained injuries that require transportation to a local hospital when a pickup truck crashed into a Barling restaurant on Wednesday.


According to information from the Arkansas State Police, 48-year-old Heather White of Rogers was one of five people dining at the Blue Agave Restaurant in Barling when a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck crashed into the front of the building.


The Arkansas State Police report says the truck was traveling south in the parking lot at 302 4th Street but failed to stop iand ran through the north wall of the restaurant. The vehicle struck five people seated inside.

White died from the injury sustained from being hit by the truck.


Four other diners including Meredith Anderson, 70 and Verl anderson, 64 both of Van Buren, Stacy Pope, 52, of Barling, and Garrison White. 20, of Rogers were all transported to Mercy hospital in Fort Smith with unspecified injuries.


The Arkansas State Police report did not name the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck.

Investigating Trooper Ronald D. Elkins of the Arkansas State Police said weather conditions were clear and the road surface was dry at the time of the accident.


Whites death was the 510th of the year in the involving automobile fatalities in the state of Arkansas.
