One in custody, one remains on the lam in Fort Smith shooting incident

Fort Smith police continiue to look for a Fort Smith man they say is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred at a Fort Smith apartment complex on Thursday.


Simon Richard Plank, who was last arrested in Fort Smith on January 31 of this year, is the subject of a felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Assaualt after police say two individuals were shot at Andy's Mallview apartment complex at just before 10 p.m. on Thursday.


Officers ,located a 21-year-old man with a single gunshot wound who was was taken to a local hospital for surgery. While on scene, officers were advsied that a second individual, an eightteen year-old male, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to as local medical facility via provate vehicle.


Both victims were said to be in serious condition when transported.


Police arrested Devon Kimbley in connection with the ioncident and charged him with aggravated assault with a firearm and he was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 7:55 am Friday on the Class D Felony. He remained in custody as of 11 p.m. Saturday night on a no-bond hold.


Plank was arrested January 31 of this year and charged with Domestic Battering in the Second and Third Degree, Absconding, Failure to Appear in a Juvenile Ajudication, and on a Juvenile Probation Revocation. He was released from the SCDC on February 6 after posting $5500 in legally sufficient bonds.


Plank stands 6'3" and weighs 175 pounds, He has brown hair.
