The Arkansas State Police released a report on Sunday morning detailing an accident that occurred Saturday in rural Madison County that took the life of a 44-year-old Huntsville woman.
According to information from that Arkansas State Police preliminary report, Robin Jerkins of Huntsville was the driver of a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was traveling eastbound on State Highway 12, was killed in a three-vehicle accident Saturday night.
Three other people were injured including a seven-year-old minor from Huntsville. Also injured in the accident was 41-year-old Britt Sumter of Prairie Grove and 57-year-old Jason Robertson of Springdale. The injured minor was a passenger in the Jerkins car.
The narrative from the Arkansas State Police says Jerkins was driving her Toyota east on State Highway 12 when she veered left tof center and stuck the driver's side of a trailer being pulled by a 2016 GMC Sierra. Jerkin appears to have attempted to swerve right and veered into the direct path of a Ford F350 that was westbound on State Highway 12.
All three vehicles in the accident were disabled and came to rest on various portions of the highway.
Sumter was a passenger in the Ford F350 while Robertson was the driver of that vehicl the engine in the accident were taken to Washington regional and the Arkansas Children's Hospital of Northwest Arkansas.
According to information supplied by the Arkansas State Police road conditions were dry and the weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
