The Arkansas State Police has identified the victim in a motor vehicle crash Thursday on State Highway 331 in the city of Russellville. A somewhat incomplete reports posted by the Arkansas State Police on the department of human services website states Wanda McCurrie, 84, of Pottsville, died Thursday when the vehicle she was a passenger in struck the back of a street sweeper on Arkansas 331, south of East 19th Street in Russellville.
The report lists the time of the collision as 10:17 but does not indicate if it was in the morning or the night. It also does not identify the type of vehicle in which McCurrie was riding.
The driver of the vehicle, Kimberly Darter, 35, also of Pottsville, was taken to to St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. and treated for unknown injuries. Officer Robert Oppel of the Russellville Police Department investigated the accident and said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the impact.
