The Arkansas State Police is reporting the death of a Fayetteville man who was killed in a one vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Prairie County.
According to an ASP preliminary report, 34-year-old John W, Vanlangingham was eastbound on Interstate 40 near the 190 mile marker in Prairie County when the 2014 Honda CRV he was driving traveled off the roadway to the south and impacted a tree.
Vanlaningham was pronounced dead at the scene according to information from ASP trooper Justin Williams.
Williams noted that the weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident. According to the report the crash occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
Vanlaningham's death was the 110th of the year across 103 fatality accidents.
