Oklahoma man killed Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle-vehicle accident in Newton County

A motorcyclist from Oklahoma was killed in a crash in Newton County just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The Arkansas State Police identify the victim as 71-year-old Clifton Caughron of Yukon, Oklahoma.
According to the preliminary fatal crash summary, Caughron’s Harley Davidson crossed the centerline and struck a trailer in the opposite lane being pulled by a 2000 Nissan.
Caughron was taken to North Arkansas Medical Center in Harrison for treatment where he died.
The accident happened on Arkansas Highway 7 at the intersection with Newton County Road 3050 in Jasper.
Responding Troop I trooper Garrett Brook noted cloudy conditions and dry pavement at the time of the accident.
