According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 65-year-old man from Locust Grove was killed in a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in a rural area of Mayes County.

Police officials say Kevin "Ky" Vaughan was driving near Peggs on State Highway 82 near North 4430 Road on November 5 just before 4pm when the vehicle he was driving was involved in a three-car pile-up.

Vaughan was pronounced dead at the scene. Another driver and a passenger were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officials said the highway was shut down for a considerable amount of time as OHP officers conducted an investigation into the cause of the crash.
