A Tulsa County jury has convicted a Pryor couple, Jordan and Vanessa Parker, of embezzling funds from Reckless Saints of Nowhere, a nonprofit addiction recovery program they ran from 2017 to 2023.
The pair faces 18 years in prison and $45,000 in fines after being found guilty on two counts of embezzlement and one count of pattern of criminal offenses, with the jury imposing the maximum penalty.
Prosecuted by Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s Consumer Protection Unit, the case exposed a brazen misuse of charitable funds.
“Embezzling money meant to support addicts recovering from substance abuse is indefensible,” Drummond stated. “My office’s Consumer Protection Unit will continue to aggressively pursue justice against those who exploit charitable contributions for personal gain.”
Court documents reveal the Parkers diverted two $600,000 donations from a Tulsa business, intended for sober living services between April and June 2021, to buy a personal vehicle, motorcycle, timeshare, sports memorabilia, video games, and rent.
The funds vanished within months, leaving the nonprofit with few assets. Affidavits state multiple board members were unaware of the purchases and would likely have rejected them due to their personal nature.
