Northwest Arkansas author and podcaster, LaDonna Humphrey, has been nominated and shortlisted for two International True Crime Awards.

The True Crime Awards (TCA) based out of London England recently announced LaDonna Humphrey made the 2023 Shortlist in two categories. According to TCA, "Our judges had to make extremely difficult decisions given the exceptional standard of the true crime content that was submitted.

The judges explored research, authenticity, uniqueness, overall quality as well as the sensitivity shown towards survivors and victims -- which sits at the heart of the True Crime Awards." Humphrey was shortlisted in two categories: Best New True Crime Author for her book, The Girl I Never Knew and for Best Indie Podcast as co-host and co-founder of the Deep Dark Secrets Podcast. The winners will be announced in June of 2023.

Both books cover the unsolved murder of 19-year-old Fort Smith native, Melissa Ann Witt. Humphrey has been working to bring exposure to Melissa Witt's case for just over eight years. Humphrey will release a documentary about the Witt cold case on May 20th as part of True Crime Fest NWA.
