November incident leads to arrest and formal charges for 39-year-old Harrison man




Law enforcement officials in Boone County say a 39-year-old Harrison man is now facing felony kidnapping charges after tying up his wife and beating her over a 6-hour period before she eventually escaped.


Court documents involving the incident say 39-year-old Christopher Hillhouse accused his wife of infidelity before tying her up and striking her a number of time over the course of about a 6-hour span.


Hillhouse bound his wife's hands behind her back using a tie from a robe. His wife stated that he slapped and head butted her repeatedly, forced panties into her mouth and choked her.


Police said the victim had bruises on her wrist consistent with being bound and the victim stated she lost some hearing in her left ear due to the slap she received. She also had bruising on her face and knees as well as scratches on her neck.


Law enforcement responded to a domestic violence call at a residence at 701 Holt Avenue in Harrison on November 2 to discover the victim down the street in a neighbor's house.


The victim had filed for an order of protection request against Hillhouse in late December of last year but later withdrew her compliant. She filed another request for an order of protection on November 6 afrter the latest incient.


Hillhouse was taken into custody and after an investigation was charged with Class Y Felony Kidnapping , Class C Felony Second Degree Domestic Battery, and Class D Felony Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member.


It appears that Hillhouse was arrested December 4 and Bond was set at $50,000 the next day according to information from Arkansas Court Connect.


A final appearance prior to trial hearing has been set for June 25 and a jury trial date of July 22 at 9:00 a.m. was ordered by Circuit Judge John Putman.
