Ninety-two year-old Barry County, Missouri man killed on I49 Thursday night in pedestrian accident


A Barry County, Missouri man died Thursday when he was struck by a northbound vehicle on Interstate 49 at the 86-mile marker in Benton County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
According to law enforcement officials, 92-year-old William T. Wright of Washburn, Missouri was involved in a traffic accident and exited his vehicle to move to the shoulder of the road. A 2011 Toyota Prius was traveling northbound in the second lane from the right and struck Wright as he crossed the roadway.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene by the Benton County Coroner's Office.
Trooper Aaron M. Keith listed clear weather and dry roadways as the conditions at the time of the accident.
