A 19-year-old man from Harvey died Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash on State Highway 28, according to a report posted Sunday by the Arkansas State Police.
Justen Lane, 19, of Harvey, was the driver and sole occupant of a 2006 GMC Yukon. The crash occurred at approximately 5:42 p.m. July 23 near 25556 State Highway 28 in Yell County. Lane was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
According to the preliminary investigation, Lane’s vehicle was traveling west on Highway 28 and negotiating a left curve when it left the roadway to the right. The driver overcorrected, re-entered the roadway, then exited again to the left, striking an embankment and rolling over.
Weather conditions at the time were cloudy and the road surface was dry.
Lane’s body was taken to the Yell County Coroner’s Office. Next of kin have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation by Trooper First Class Adrienne Belcher of the Arkansas State Police.
