Newton County twenty-year-old arrested for sexual assault on male relative released on $50,000 bond
A 20-ear-old Jasper man who was arrested two weeks ago on felony charges of Rape and Sexual Indecency with a Child was released on $50,000 bail on Monday after waiving an appearance and pleading not guilty to the sex crimes in Newton Cunty District Court.
According to court records, Elijah Witt was arrested for sexual contact with a 14-year-old male relative. The investigation showed that Witt had taken advantage of a female relative as well in year's past.
According to the police report, Witt and the male minor engaged in oral sex when they were 16 and 12 years of age respectively and the female relative was also involved during the same time frame. She started there was mutual oral sex between her and Witt when she was six years of age.
The previous incidents happened when they all lived in the same house in Compton, according to the report. Will no longer lives with the family but was "spending the night" and sleeping on a pull-out couch when the assaults occurred on Saturday, March 26.
From information gleaned from the police report, Witt's parents were aware of the previous sexual encounters involving the three juveniles.
