A 29-year-old Marble Falls woman who has weaved herself in and out of court proceedings in Newton and Cleburne counties over the past fourteen years will call the Arkansas Department of Corrections home for the next few after being sentenced to 60 months in prison on a plea deal this week.
Chelsea Danielle Campbell, who was arrested in June of last year on two felony charges and four charges of endangering the welfare of minors after she stabbed another woman in the presence of her children, cut a plea deal earlier this week in Newton County Circuit Court.
Campbell, who had been free on bail prior to her sentencing, entered a no contest plea to Battery in the Second Degree and First Degree Terroristic threatening, both Class D felonies.
The affidavit filed last year after the June 12th stabbing said the stabbing l victim returned home the night before and found Campbell in the residence with her boyfriend. The victim told Campbell to leave at which time she pulled a knife and and said "she would kill her (the victim) and burn down her house".
The following day Campbell messaged the victim and told her she was coming to the home to pick up some of her personal property she had left in the residence the night before. Upon Campbell arriving, the victim came outside to meet her in the yard and was cut in the arm while trying to defend herself from an attack.
The victim's 12-year-old daughter witnessed the stabbing, and Campbell had three minor children in the vehicle in which she fled from the scene.
The victim went to a home of neighbor who was a paramedic and later went to the emergency room of a local hospital.
When officers located Campbell and another residence she initially tried to hide inside the home. Eventually a male came out of the residence and after several moments Campbell surrendered to authorities without resistance and was placed under arrest.
Arkansas Court Cnnect shows Campbell has been involved with four orders of protection lawsuits, two fraternity cases, and a divorce since 2014.
