Mulberry woman whose baby died on September 3 in jail on Murder charge

Updated: Sep 7, 2020

A Crawford County woman remains behind bars after her arrest on Friday facing a $1,000,000 bond and First Degree Murder charges, according to booking information from the Crawford County Sheriff Office.

Nancy Nicole Willliams, age unavailable, of Mulberry was booked into the CCDC at 5:43 on the Murder charge. No details have been released about the victim, but a source with intimate knowledge of this situation says the murder involved the death of a child.

Social media posts by Willliams on the day of her arrest to her Facebook timeline reference the loss of a loved one, and one poster commented on the death of "baby Dakota". In addition. on September 3, Williams posted the following:

The source that gave us the information on the death says this is a picture of William's son Dakota:

Williams reportedly recently "aged out" out of the state Department of Human Services Department and her Facebook timeline lists her as being a resident of Wynne. According to a source, she was a resident of The Lodge, a residential care facility that houses adults with serious chronic psychological diagnoses. According to the same sources, she became pregnant by another resident of the facility and moved out before the birth of her child.

Information on this story is very limited because the person who answered the phone at the Crawford County Sheriff Office refused to give out any details and instructed Today in Fort Smith to call back on Tuesday when Sheriff Ron Brown was "back from the holiday".

This is a developing story and we will have more information as it becomes available.
