Mountainburg man dies as the result of accident that occurred last week on US Highway 71



The Arkansas State Police released a report on Wednesday morning detailing an accident that took a lot of an 83-year-old Mountainburg man last week.


According to the Post on the Arkansas Department of Public safety website, James l Morgan of Mountainburg was northbound on US Highway 71 near the intersection with Winn Mountain Loop when the 2011 Chevy trailblazer he was driving failed to negotiate a curve.


The vehicle went off the east side of the highway and struck a culvert with its front end. After the initial impact, the vehicle went in airborne and landed on its wheels in the east side ditch.


Morgan was transported to Washington Regional Medical facility in Fayetteville where he later succumbed to his injuries. His body was then transferred to the Washington County Coroner's office.


The investigating ASP trooper noted clear but wet conditions at the time of the accident.
