Motorcyle-car collision on North Albert Pike Sunday afternoon leaves 46-year-old man dead

Late Sunday night the Arkansas State Police identified the motorcyclist who was killed just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in a wreck on North Albert Pike in Fort Smith.

Just after 11:00 p.m. Sunday night the ASP posted a preliminary accident report that identified the deceased motorcyclist as 46-year-old Jacky Nail of Fort Smith. According to that report, Nail was piloting a Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on in the 3300 block of North Albert Pike when a northbound 2013 Nissan made a left turn in front of the bike. . The motorcycle struck the front of the Nissan, ejecting Nail onto the roadway.

Nail was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sebastian County Coroner's office.

Corporal Andrew Adams of the Fort Smith Police Department worked the accident and noted weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the impact.

Nails death represents the 63rd roadway fatality of the year n 57 accidents in Arkansas.
