Motorcycle wreck on State Highway 23 in rural Madison County proves deadly to 43-year-old man


The Arkansas State Police says a Jay, Arkansas motorcyclist died on Sunday in an accident that occurred on State Highway 23 at Shipps Corner in rural Madison County on Sunday at just after 11 am.


According to an ASP preliminary report, 43-year-old Michael S. Davis of Jay was driving a 2018 Kawasaki southbound on State Highway 23 when he drove off the right side of the roadway while trying to negotiate a left-hand curve.


The motorcycle entered the west ditch and went over an embankment and came to rest on it's side facing east. Davis was transported to the Washington Regional Medical center in Fayetteville where he was later pronounced dead.


Corporal Drew Widner of the Arkansas Syate Police worked the accident and another clear weather conditions an dry pavement at the time of the wreck which accounted for the 448th fatality of the year on Arkansas roads and highways.
