Information from the Fort Smith Police Department and the Arkansas State Police identified a 21-year-old F0ort Smith man who died as the result of a motorcycle accident early Wednesday morning at US Highway 271S and Texas Road.
According to an Arkansas State Police preli9mnary post, Alex Sanchez of Fort Smith was southbound on US Highway 271 South at just after 3am Wednesday morning when the 2018 Yamaha he was driving struck a curb at the intersection with Hillside Drive. The motorcycle proceeded forward and struck the curb again, laying the bike on it's side.
The bike and occupant then slid with Sanchez striking a culvert at 6814 Texas Road.
The Fort Smith Police Department worked the accident and officer Michael Malone noted cloudy conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the crash.
