Missouri man killed, passenger injured in I-49 motorcycle accident near Chester on Friday

A 52-year-old Missouri man died Friday after suffering a unidentified medical situation that caused the crash of his motorcycle on I-49 in Crawford County. A preliminary report by the Arkansas State Police did not pinpoint the mile marker of the accident, but it was near the community of Chester. According to information supplied by the Arkansas state police, Brian Eugene Gustin' of Aurora, Missouri, was piloting a 2023 Harley Davidson trike motorcycle southbound on interstate 49 in the right hand lane just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Gustin suffered an unknown medical condition and lost consciousness. The motorcycle traveled off the right shoulder and impacted several small trees. As the bike rolled down a concrete ditch it encountered a steep embankment and the driver and passenger were both ejected. The passenger, 34-year-old Jennifer Elizabeth Gustin, also of Aurora, was taken to Mercy ospital in Fort Smith for treatment of unknown injuries.. The body of Brian Gustin, who was dec;lared dead at the scene. was held at the Crawford County coroner's office. According to police the motorcycle rolled south for a total of 758 feet from the time it left the roadway to the final rest.. e Traffic control officer Sean Ellis of the Arkansas State Police workd the accident and said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry when it occurred..
